“The desire to live on your own terms must outweigh your fear of failure” -SISL
I never knew that setting goals could rewrite my story and change my life…
When I graduated from college, I was flat broke, in thousands of dollars of debt and had no clue what I wanted to do with my life.
As I looked around, I saw all these people who had it all figured out. I couldn’t understand why everyone else seemed to get so lucky. The more I thought about it, the more I found myself feeling anxious, unsettled, and unhappy.
I never put much planning and thought into my life, because I’ve always been a “go where the wind takes me” type of person. I’d think, “What if I set goals and don’t achieve them?”
It took me a long time to realize that when you set goals the right way, you cannot fail. When you approach goal setting with the right methodology, you find that the outcome of your achievements is not finite. Goals are fluid; they are just doorways to the paths that lead you on journeys.
Affective goal setting isn’t about achieving the goal – it’s about becoming the kind person you need to be to accomplish any of your audacious goals.
I write about using effective goal setting techniques to develop into the person you want to be, to pursue and explore your passions.
I’m not here to show you how to make money, or start your own business, or even convince you that there is a right or wrong way to live.
I’m here for a much simpler reason — to find meaning in every day, create the things that don’t exist, and inspire you to believe you can do the same.
Goal setting goes hand in hand with lifestyle design. It is the process of finding your way and enjoying your journey. It is giving yourself the freedom to live a happy, balanced life.
Start where you are…
Wherever you want to go, whatever the destination, however big the goal, the only way to get there is to start where you are.
Building a lifestyle that allows you the freedom you desire, creating success on your terms, and achieving the goals you set, are all components of a prosperous lifestyle design.
