Meet Our Founder
When I graduated from Umass Boston, I was flat broke, stuck in a job I hated, miserable in my relationship, and had no clue where to go from there. With no idea what I wanted my future to look like, all I could do was look around at the people who seemed to have it figured out. My friends and I would talk about the things we wanted to do but I realized that these ambitions didn’t have any plans behind them. I realized that if I ever wanted to achieve any of my big dreams I was going to have to first fiure out how to get there.
Well I wish I could say that I figured it all out, started setting goals, built my dream life, and now I travel the world on my yacht with a martini in my hand, but that’s not really how things worked out for me.
I don’t have it all figured out. But before you turn me away, (because why would you want to listen to someone who just admitted that they don’t have it figured out) I have made some pretty substantial progress in those two short years:
- I quit the job I hated and landed an amazing job where I get to travel
- I left my old relationship and found the love of my life
- I got out of debt and have been able to save up the down payment on a home
- and I have a vision of where I want to be in the future and a plan to go with it
Along the way, I have discovered a few essential things that have helped me reach these goals.
- Goals take planning, commitment, and progress
- Success doesn’t happen overnight
- When you set goals the right way, you cannot fail.
When you approach goal setting with the right methodology, you find that the outcome of your achievements is not finite. Goals are fluid; they are ever-changing and evolving. The outcome is not important – the journey is.
Effective goal setting isn’t about achieving the goal – it’s about becoming the kind person you need to be to accomplish any of your audacious goals.
Goal setting goes hand in hand with lifestyle design. It is the process of finding your way and enjoying your journey. It is giving yourself the freedom to live a happy, balanced life. It is using effective goal setting techniques to develop into the person you want to be.
