Start where you are…
Your whole life your told to believe that your 20’s are supposed to be your best years. Travel, love, new careers, exciting experiences, living on your own. Except, these high expectations haven’t played out the way you thought. Instead you’re faced with a feelings of uncertain independence and impromptu anxiety.
What happened to these being the best times of my life??
From the Beginning
She is so Lucky launched in March 2018 as a means for escape from my money anxieties and future uncertainties. I figured if I could just focus on something other than my problems maybe I’d start finding solutions. I started focusing on the small wins, the little things I wanted to achieve. My plans got bigger and more ambitious.
I knew I couldn’t be the only one out there holding it all together by a thread. I wanted to create a place for wandering 20-somethings looking for a push in the right direction — the ones that needed to hear that it’s okay to not have it all figured out but were determined to make changes in their life.
We all need that friend who gives us good advice, sees the potential within us, and keeps us motivated. She is so Lucky is that friend – to ask questions too, get advice from, and let you know that it’s all going to be okay
Meet Our Founder
When I graduated from Umass Boston, I was flat broke, stuck in a job I hated, miserable in my relationship, and had no clue where to go from there. I hit rock bottom when I found myself couchsurfing with no savings account, thousands of dollars in debt, and very little plans for the future.
I wish I could say that since then, I’ve built my dream life, and now I travel the world on my yacht with a martini in my hand.
I have to admit, I don’t have it all figured out.
But before you turn me away, (because why would you take advice from someone who just admit their life is far from perfect) I want to share with you some of the substantial progress I’ve made in two short years:
- I quit the job I hated and landed an amazing job where I get to travel all the time
- I left my old relationship and found the love of my life ♡
- I got out of debt and have been able to buy my first home
- and I have a vision of where I want to be in the future and a plan to go with it
Lessons learned along the way
I have discovered a few essential things that have helped me reach my goals:
- Nothing is ever perfect and you shouldn’t strive for perfection
- Goals take planning, commitment, progress, and time
- Success doesn’t happen overnight
- When you set goals the right way, you cannot fail
When you approach goal setting with the right methodology, you find that the outcomes of your achievements are not finite. Goals are fluid; they are ever-changing and evolving. The outcome is not important – who you become along the way is.
Effective goal setting isn’t about achieving the goal – it’s about becoming the kind person you need to be to accomplish any of your audacious goals.
Goal setting goes hand in hand with lifestyle design. It is the process of finding your way. It is giving yourself the freedom to live a happy, balanced life. It is using effective goal setting techniques to develop into the person you want to be.
So what are you waiting for? Let’s get started!
